About The Event

Bookings strictly through the Tri-Borough Early Years Music Hub: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/131442797947

Participants must be living or working in one the three boroughs.

What is this about?

Music House for Children is part of the Tri-Music Together consortium (https://www.triboroughmusichub.org/early-years/) supported by Youth Music to develop and strengthen skills and delivery in early childhood music across the three boroughs Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster.

This training event captures all that is joyous about spontaneous musical play with instruments and visuals. Participants will gain an insight and ideas to enjoy with their children with instruments􏰌- their sounds, association to stories, rhymes and songs, and the wonderful breadth of music making on offer. No, you do not need masses of instruments although at least one will help. Lots of ideas on adopting instrumental sounds with other resources will be presented. Using songs and rhymes as mini stories will provide spontaneous and shared

musical improvisation, not least to encourage vocalising, new adventures and the all-important laughter that captures so much of mutual, positive well-being. Downloadable resources, songs, rhymes and helpful links will all be available.

Who is this session for?

Childminders and people working with very young children, toddlers or  young children wanting inspiration and information on resources and  instruments to assist shared participatory play. Be ready to move, join in and share your ideas!

Led by Emma Hutchinson, founder of Music House for Children and early years music specialist and trainer.

Emma has an MA in early childhood music and 30+ years of teaching, training and research. She has presented many training events, courses and literature on the significance of music in early childhood.
